CUMBERLAND GAP, Tenn - The Cumberland Gap business association invites everyone to attend the annual Lazy Days of Summer festival this weekend. But, don't let this name fool you.

The festival is set to begin Saturday, July 9 and will include a variety of crafters, artist, and antique vendors who are coming from Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia and beyond.

Event coordinator Sue Bain said anyone who is looking for something to do can stop by the tiny town to shop, browse and enjoy themselves.

"With summer being here and gas prices being through the roof, man locals are looking for activities within the tri-state area," said Bain.

Bain said events this weekend not only include vendors but will also feature a gala of entertainment from carnival games to live music including Native American and Bluegrass bands. A stand-up comedian will also entertain event-goers, along with a outdoor movie in the town park near dusk to top things off. Vendors will also be set up for Sunday from noon to five.

Also Sunday, the Cumberland Gap National Park is sponsoring a concert starting at 2 p.m. The star? Acoustic soloist Timothy Seaman.

Seaman was born in West Virginia and has learned to appreciate science, nature and the outdoors from his father while learning music from his mother. He uses a diverse blend of music styles unlike any other known.

"The music is exhilarating and amusing with some real surprises," said Debby Golden, Eastern National's on-site manager in a press release. "It will be a delight for the entire family."

Seaman is a graduate of William and Mary College and has taught for nineteen years. Since 1994, music has been his major career. He has produced and co-produced thirteen recordings including 'Sycamore Rapids' and 'Quiet in the Meadow'.

Seaman will perform at the visitor's center. For more information his performance, you can contact the park at (606)-248-2817. For more information about the town of Cumberland Gap's Lazy Days festival, call (423)-869-4410.
