Pulaski scored numerous unearned runs as they routed Pineville/Bell 13-4 in the first-round matchup. Pulaski advances to take on North London today while Pineville/Bell falls to the losers bracket awaiting the loser of Monday's Middlesboro/Hazard game. (Game results were not known at press time.)
Pineville/Bell opened the game with three runs in the top of the fist inning.
Ryan Collett and Tyler Green drew consecutive walks to lead off the inning. Both runners advanced on wild pitches and both eventually scored on pitches to the backstop.
Brandon Bailey followed with a single up the middle. Following a strikeout, Byron Asher came through with an RBI single to right. Asher was thrown out at home trying to score on a short grounder to end the inning.
Pulaski tied the game with three runs of its own in the home half of the inning, but Collett helped Pineville/Bell reclaim the lead with an inside-the-park home run in the second inning.
Collett's leadoff homer was the last of Pineville/Bell offense, however, as Pulaski reclaimed the lead with four runs in the second and coasted to the victory.
