Lee County Sheriff Gary Parsons said his officers executed the two warrants at the same time in the Harless Apartments, across from Pennington Middle School, due to officers believing that the two locations were tied together in distribution of drugs.
One warrant, according to Parsons, was executed at an apartment occupied by 34-year-old Joseph Carl Thomas Jr., also known as "Hippie Joe," of Pennington Gap.
Parsons said officers confiscated a large quantity of Lortab painkillers and a quantity of marijuana.
The second warrant was issued for 21-year-old Kevin Fleenor, at another apartment in the same area. Officers found large quantities of marijuana at Fleenor's residence as well.
"The items found will be sent to the lab in Roanoke for analysis," said the Sheriff.
"Once results are obtained, then the findings will be presented to the future siting of the grand jury and officers will be seeking indictments at that time."
Sheriff Parsons encourages anyone with information regarding drugs or any other criminal activity to contact his office at (276) 346-7777 or the anonymous T.I.P.S. line at (276) 346-7066.
