During the August session of criminal court, 27 people entered pleas.

Among them are the following:

  • David Dale Hackworth 41, pled guilty to two counts of theft over $500; he was given two years judicial diversion, ordered to pay $700 to ECF, $1,275 restitution to Ronnie Gilbert of Jamestown, and $1,000 restitution to Dark Star Transport

  • Timothy DeWayne Carmack 30, pled guilty to one count of aggravated assault; he was sentenced to three years in jail with sentence to be concurrent with all prior cases

  • Kevin Calin Gerding 26, pled guilty to one count of theft under $500 and two counts of forgery; he was sentence to 11 months, 29 days on the theft charge and two years on the first forgery charge (both to be served concurrently) and sentenced to one year on the second forgery charge (to be served consecutively with the first two charges for an effective three year sentence); he was also ordered to pay $270 restitution to Holiday BP

  • Ronnie Lynn Wolfe 35, pled guilty to one count each of possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance with intent to sell or deliver and altering/destroying an item's permanent serial number; he was sentenced to one year on the possession charge and 11 months, 29 days on the altering/destroying charge, with both to be served concurrently (split confinement - time served in jail and one year supervised probation), ordered to forfeit $1,000 to the Claiborne County Sheriff's Department Drug Fund, and ordered to forfeit a weapon

  • Patrick Locklear 37, pled guilty to one count of aggravated assault; he was sentenced to three years

  • Robby Lee Hamblin 26, pled gulity to one count of statutory rape; he was sentenced to two years (split confinement - one day in jail and two years supervised probation) and ordered to have no contact with the victim or her family

  • Shirley Darel Atkins 63, pled guilty to one count each of possession of a handgun while under the influence, criminal littering, and public intoxication; he was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days on the handgun charge, six months on the littering charge, and 30 days on the public intoxication charge to be served concurrently (split confinement - one day plus three hours in jail and 11 months, 29 days supervised probation), as well as a $200 fine, and forfeiture of all weapons

  • Paul Winfield Foust 75, pled guilty to one count of sexual battery; he was sentenced to six years (split confinement - 90 days in jail and balance on Community Corrections) and must register as a sexual offender

  • Clayton Causey 43, pled guilty to possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; he was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days supervised probation and ordered to forfeit $3,000 to the 8th Judicial District Drug Task Force

  • Stanley Williams 43, pled guilty to reckless aggravated assault; he was sentenced to two years

  • Tony Martin 27, pled guilty to attempted aggravated perjury; he was sentenced to one year to be served concurrent will a prior case

  • Benny Edward Brooks 43, pled guilty to DUI (first); he was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days (split confinement - two days in jail and 11 months, 29 days supervised probation), ordered to pay a $350 fine and lost his license for one year

  • James Gibson 21, pled guilty to two counts of driving on a revoked license; he was sentenced to six months on each charge, to be served consecutively for an effective one year sentence

  • Issac Lee Oakes 74, pled guilty to one count each of reckless driving and possession of a handgun while under the influence; he was sentenced to six months on the reckless driving charge and 11 months, 29 days on the handgun charge (both charges are to be served concurrently on one year unsupervised probation) and had to pay a $1,000 fine

  • Jeffrey E. Gambrel 32, pled guilty to reckless driving; he was sentenced to six months (supervised probation) and ordered to pay a $350 fine

  • Larry Allen Gulley 40, pled guilty to DUI (second); he was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days (split confinement - 45 days in jail and six months supervised probation), ordered to pay a $600 fine, and lost driver's license for two years

  • Christopher Elbert Robinson 37, pled guilty to one count of driving on a revoked license and two counts of DUI; he was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days on the driving on a revoked license charge and three years on each DUI charge, all to be served concurrently (split confinement - 300 days in jail, three years supervised probation), ordered to pay a $250 fine, forfeited $250 to the Tazewell Police Department Drug Fund, and lost driving privileges for five years

  • Brian Steven Cloud 31, pled guilty to possession of Schedule II controlled substance (cocaine) with intent to deliver or sell (less than .5 grams); he was sentenced to three years to be served concurrently with all prior sentences

  • Gene L. Segur 43, pled guilty to one count each of reckless aggravated assault and possession of a handgun while under the influence; he was sentenced to two years on the assault charge and 11 months, 29 days on the handgun charge; both charges are to be served concurrently for an effective two year sentence (split confinement - 15 days in jail with two years on supervised probation) and forfeiture of weapon

  • Joshua W. Eads 21, pled guilty to burglary of a building; he was sentenced to two years (split confinement - two days in jail, two years supervised probation), ordered to pay a $100 fine, $100 to ECF, and $672 restitution

  • Terronda Farrow Mincy 23, pled guilty to theft over $1,000; she was sentenced to four years (split confinement - 60 days in jail, four years supervised probation) and ordered to pay $500 to ECF and $100 restitution

  • Ronald Marshall Longoria 23, pled guilty to burglary; he was sentenced to two years and one day

  • Jason Sweat 30, pled guilty to simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance; he was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days supervised probation and ordered to pay $750 to 8th Judicial District Drug task Force

  • Christopher Roberts 28, pled guilty to delivery or sale of Schedule II controlled substance; he was sentenced to eight years (split confinement-100 days in jail, eight years supervised probation) and was ordered to pay $250 to ECF as well as $2,000 to 8th Judicial District Drug task Force and $105 restitution

  • Daniel L. Davis 20, pled guilty to three counts of forgery; he was sentenced to one year on each charge to be served consecutive for an effective three year sentence (split confinement - 70 days in jail, three years supervised probation) and ordered to pay $225 to ECF and $395 restitution

  • Jason Burchett 27, pled guilty to simple possession of marijuana; he was sentenced to 11 months, 29 days (one year supervised probation) and ordered to pay $500 to CCSD Drug Fund

  • Randall Lee Brooks 22, pled guilty to reckless driving; he was sentenced to six months supervised probation and ordered to pay a $350 fine
