An arrest has been made in the beating death of a Claiborne County elementary teacher.
Jamie S. Brock, 33, was charged with first degree murder early Tuesday, Aug. 30th. On Monday, Aug. 29th, deputies from the Claiborne County Sheriff's Department found the body of Janet Brock, 34, at her home on Back Valley Road in Speedwell at about 6:45 a.m. According to Dave Daniels, Claiborne County Chief Investigator, interviews were conducted throughout the day and at about 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Mr. Brock was arrested. He is lodged in the Claiborne County Jail under a $1 million bond.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
Ms. Brock was a teacher at Powell Valley Elementary School. Grief counselors were scheduled to be at the school on Tuesday.
