Claiborne County Sheriff's Department deputies Harrison Cornet and Robert Chadwell located an alleged methamphetamine lab at a mobile home. Joey D. Rouse, 27, was taken into custody and charged with manufacturing of Schedule II drugs, child neglect, and environmental neglect. Upon his arrival at the Claiborne County jail, Deputy Gene Hurley allegedly discovered a quantity of finished product, apparently meth, hidden on the body of Rouse. An additional charge of introducing Schedule II drugs into a penal facility was lodged.
Suzanne E. Rouse, 26, was arrested and charged with possession of Schedule II drugs for resale, manufacturing methamphetamine, child endangerment, and environmental neglect.
Arizona A. Cooper, 39, was charged with possession of Schedule II drugs.
During the cleanup of materials, a quantity of suspected moonshine was located. Further charges may result relating to untaxed liquor.
Cornet and Chadwell serve on the Meth Task Force in addition to their usual duties with the CCSD. They say that efforts to eradicate the drug are being enhanced.
