Only three games into the 2005-2006 LMU women's basketball schedule, Lincoln Memorial University Head Coach Roger Vannoy announced on Monday, Nov. 21st, that Andi Winney has signed a National Letter of Intent to play next season for the Lady Railsplitters.

A 6'0" post player from Yorktown, Ind., Winney played her prep career for Yorktown High School under the direction of Head Coach Angie NeIp.

"Andi is an outstanding young lady and one of the best players we've signed with post up skills," said Vannoy. "She could be one of the top rebounders we have every signed and Will be a great addition to our program."

During her junior year at Yorktown, Winney averaged 17 points per game while pulling 11.5 rebounds per contest which ranked her 10th in the state in rebounding.

"Andi is a strong inside threat with great shooting touch and rebounding ability," says Yorktown Head Coach Angie Nelp. "She epitomizes a great leader in her work ethic and desire."

In only three years of high school basketball, Winney has earned all-county, all-conference, Team MVP and was named to Hoosier Basketball Magazine's All-Star Team. She is the daughter of Wayne and Gail Winney and will be majoring in Veterinary Technology at Lincoln Memorial University next fall.
