A Sharps Chapel man has been arrested following a series of burglaries in Claiborne and Union counties.
Darrell Tate, Jr., 28, was arrested Friday, Jan. 13th on charges of driving on a revoked driver's license and possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, according to Det. Wayne Mewhinney of the New Tazewell Police Department. Items stolen from locations in Tazewell were found in his vehicle and other stolen items officers were searching for were found at Tate's residence, Mewhinney said.
Tate will be charged with three counts of burglary of a vehicle and three counts of theft of property in New Tazewell in connection to recent break-ins of vehicles at Victory Assembly of God, according to the officer.
The Tazewell Police Department and the Union County Sheriff's Department are also expected to place charges against Tate as well, Mewhinney added that the three departments worked together in the investigation and that the NTPD and TPD worked together in making the arrest.
