Two charged with robbing Wal-Mart

PINEVILLE - Two Middlesboro women have been formally indicted by the Bell County grand jury for a July robbery at the Middlesboro Wal-Mart.

Sylvia S. Mills, 25, was indicted for first degree robbery and two counts of first degree wanton endangerment.

Tenise Christian Ledford, also 25, was indicted on the charge of first degree complicity to commit robbery, and two counts of first degree complicity to commit wanton endangerment.

The indictments alleges that on July 23, Mills committed the robbery with Ledford assisting in the crime. During the robbery, Mills allegedly used physical force on two Wal-Mart employees, Holly Bailey and Shaun Davis, while committing the theft.

The two employees sustained injury when the car Mills was driving struck them during the robbery.

In other cases, a Middlesboro man was indicted for second degree assault.

Carl Douglas White, 57, was indicted for allegedly striking Michelle Houston in the head with a metal pipe and his fist. Houston had to receive medical treatment for her injuries.

Five other individuals were indicted by the grand jury. They include:

- Ernie Leroy Branham, 37, of Pineville, for second degree burglary. His indictment alleges that he broke into the home of Hattie Murrell on Sept. 27 of last year

- Robert H. Gordon, 36, of Middlesboro, on theft by failure to make required disposition of property (over $300). His indictment alleges he failed to return a drill and drill bits that he had rented from Bell Concrete and took the items to East End Pawn Shop in attempt to pawn them

- Dustin Glenn Baker, 21, of Middlesboro, on the charge of receiving stolen property (over $300). His indictment alleges he received/retained/disposed of a 2000 Honda four-wheeler which had been stolen from Adam Marcum

- Robert L. Griffith, 18, of Evarts, for utter false/forged prescription. His indictment alleges that on Oct. 26 of last year, Griffith attempted to obtain methadone at RX Discount Pharmacy by making using a forged prescription from Harlan Medical Center.

- Donnie Wayne Caldwell, 39, of Williamstown, for second degree persistent felony offender.
