Man indicted for allegedly causing crash

PINEVILLE - A Kettle Island man was indicted by the Bell County Grand Jury for a Aug. 29 incident in which he allegedly caused a car accident.

Eric Shawn Stewart, 24, was indicted on three counts of wanton endangerment.

Stewart was riding in a vehicle driven by Cerina R. Foister, according to his indictment, when he allegedly grabbed the steering wheel and drove the car into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

Dorsan G. Nunn and James Napier, passengers in the other vehicle involved in the accident, were injured in the ensuing collision. Foister was also injured in the accident.

In other grand jury action, Jason Keith Medley, 28, of Middlesboro, was indicted on two counts of second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (Hydrocodone).

Ricky Dale Davis, 51, of Middlesboro, was indicted on two counts of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (Cocaine).

James Robert Bush, 47, of Middlesboro, was indicted on one count of first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (Cocaine) and one count of being a persistent felony offender in the second degree.

Michael Dale Brooks, 21, of Middlesboro, was indicted on second degree trafficking in a controlled substance (Hydrocodone), and one count of third degree trafficking in a controlled substance (Alprazolam), first offense.

Alice Gail Hill, 43, of Middlesboro, was indicted on second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (Hydrocodone), third-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (Alprazolam) and one count of trafficking in marijuana (less than eight ounces).

Michael Brock, 44, of Pineville, was indicted on the charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (Cocaine).

Two other Bell County residents have been indicted in cases involving stolen goods, including one man stealing equipment from a car wash.

Albert Lee Hensley, 34, of Arjay, was indicted on one count of theft by unlawful taking or disposition (over $300), and one count of first-degree criminal mischief.

According to his indictment, Hensley allegedly stole two industrial car vacuums from J.B. & D Car Wash and damaged the coin box on a Coca-Cola vending machine, on or about Nov. 9 2005.

In a separate indictment, a Middlesboro man was charged with one count of receiving stolen property and one count of third-degree criminal mischief.

Shawn C. Gibson, 19, of Middlesboro, allegedly received,retained and/or disposed of property belonging to Rex Slife. The property was valued at $585.

Gibson also allegedly damaged the glove box and key ignition of a vehicle, which belonged to Alice Richards.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt, and trials for the accused are schedule for court at a later date.
