He was a son of the late Roy Lee Shiflet and Mary Anna Mason Shiflet. He attended the Victory Worship Center. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sisters: Delores Sharpe, Lorene Guy, Ann Mayes, Nancy Marie Shiflet; brothers: Eugene Shiflet, Gary Wayne Shiflet, Jackie Shiflet, Thomas Shiflet.
Survivors include wife: Teddi 'Nicole' Henson Shiflet; son: Samuel Bryson Lee Shiflet of Speedwell; daughters: Ronda Jo George of Rincon, Ga, April Lee Shiflet of New Tazewell, Alicia Marie Shiflet of Honolulu, Hi; brothers: Joe Shiflet of Monroe, Mi, Vibert (Opal) Shiflet, Harold (Sharon) Shiflet, Jerry Shiflet all of Speedwell, Jim (Ellen) Shiflet of Milwaukee, Wi; sisters: Ruth (Henry) Welch of Speedwell, June (Arnold) Allen of Hawthorne, Fl, Wilma (Ray) Carter of Speedwell, Madeline (Hugh) Roe of Kokomo, In, Audrey Blake of Hawthorne, Fl; grandchildren: Brandon Garrison, Emily Garrison, Daniel George, Caroline George, Carissa George.
Funeral services were Friday, March 31 at 8 p.m. at Reece Valley Chapel with Rev. Mark Graves officiating. Graveside services were Saturday, April 1 at 2 p.m. in the Moyers Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Thomas Shiflet, Neal Welch, Jimmie Roe, Brian Roe, Rusty Patterson and Danny Patterson. Honorary pallbearers: Bob Mullins, Doyle Roe, Danny Neal and Wayne Newman.
