Middlesboro - Charles Anthony Smith, 52, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2006, at his home after an extended illness.

He was born Sept. 28, 1954, in Bell County, the son of the late Charlie Ray and Lillie Beatrice Ely Smith He was a member of the 30th Street Church of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Lilly Lorene Osborne and Shirley Dane Brock; two brothers, Porter Ray Smith, and William Kenneth Smith.

He is survived by the following members of his family: a son, Charles Donald Smith, Middlesboro; brothers, Clay Smith, Knoxville, Tenn., Dennis Smith, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Leeroy Smith, Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters, Linda Lavelle Billingsley, Middlesboro, and Wanda Gale Mordecai, Stroud, Okla.; special friend Missy Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Creech Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Kersey presiding. Music will be provided by Roy Lasley.

Interment will follow in the Yeary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Billingsley, Charles Partin, Ricky Smith, Cody Partin, Wayne McFall, Brandon Partin. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Partin and Larry Smith.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, at Creech Funeral Home, Middlesboro, which is in charge of arrangements.
