Born April 18, 1947, in Speedwell, he was the a son of the late Roy Lee Shiflet and Mary Anna Mason Shiflet. He attended the Victory Worship Center.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by sisters, Delores Sharpe, Lorene Guy, Ann Mayes, Nancy Marie Shiflet; and brothers, Eugene Shiflet, Gary Wayne Shiflet, Jackie Shiflet, and Thomas Shiflet.
Survivors include his wife, Teddi “Nicole” Henson Shiflet; son, Samuel Bryson Lee Shiflet, Speedwell, Tenn.; daughters, Ronda Jo George, Rincon, Ga., April Lee Shiflet, New Tazewell, Tenn., Alicia Marie Shiflet, Honolulu, Hawaii; brothers, Joe Shiflet, Monroe, Mich., Vibert (Opal) Shiflet, Harold (Sharon) Shiflet, Jerry Shiflet, all of Speedwell, Jim (Ellen) Shiflet, Milwaukee, Wisc.; sisters, Ruth (Henry) Welch, Speedwell, June (Arnold) Allen, Hawthorne, Fla., Wilma (Ray) Carter, Speedwell, Madeline (Hugh) Roe, Kokomo, Ind., Audrey Blake, Hawthorne, Fla.; grandchildren, Brandon Garrison, Emily Garrison, Daniel George, Caroline George, Carissa George.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at Reece Valley Chapel with the Rev. Mark Graves officiating.
Graveside services 2 p.m. Saturday in the Moyers cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thomas Shiflet, Neal Welch, Jimmie Roe, Brian Roe, Rusty Patterson and Danny Patterson. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Mullins, Doyle Roe, Danny Neal and Wayne Newman.
