MAGNET HOLLOW — Ernest “Tub” Goodin Jr., 64, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the Pineville Community Hospital.

He was born at Magnet Hollow on August 31, 1946, and was the son of the late Rev. Ernest Goodin and Edna Merritt Goodin. He was a retired deputy sheriff with the Bell County Sheriff’s Department. He was a member of the Hosman Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Sue Mason Goodin; sisters, Janice Faye Goodin and Murdie Hunley; brother Clyde Lee Goodin; and great-granddaughter, Braelyn Raines.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Goodin; sons and their wives, Ernest III and Kelly Goodin, Kenneth and Misty Goodin; grandchildren, Brittany, Miranda, Benjamin, Dalton, Nathan, Madison, Darla, Haley, Brooke and Lucas; great-grandchildren, Taylan Raines and Charles Isaac Mason; brothers and sisters, James Luther Goodin, Sondra Goodin, Mike Goodin and John Paul Goodin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at11 a.m. Wednesday at the Hosman Baptist Church with the Rev. Junior Nichols and the Rev. Bill Helton presiding.

Burial will be in the Ernest Goodin Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Ulrich, Jonathan Wilder, Peirce Edmondson, Don Engle and Dr. Jeffrey Frederich.

The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Hosman Baptist Church.
