The 2006 Bell County Fair gets under way tonight at Fourmile, Ky. Featuring the Jules and Beck Carnival, the Fair will run through Saturday, August 26. This year's Fair promises to be bigger and better than ever, say officials, with more vendors and events.

The gates will open at 5 p.m., and admission is $3 per person. A special unlimited ride pass for the carnival is only $15. Other events beginning at 5 p.m. will include a petting zoo, magician Greg Farmer who performs each night until Friday, and the fair exhibits. At 8 p.m., attendees will have a choice of the ATV Drag Race or listening to the Jeff Treece Band.

The Jeff Treece Band brings a mixture of original gospel music and good, clean humor. The ATV and Motorcycles Dirt Drag will feature 18 different classes of vehicles, and lots of excitement and noise. There will definitely be something for the whole family to enjoy.

Other events scheduled for the week include a Derby King Demolition Derby on Wednesday, beginning at 8 p.m. Dizney Rodeo gets underway at 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday nights. Thursday, Robbie Brumbach and Rhythm Source Productions brings Karaoke to the Fair, with prizes awarded. A youth livestock show, an open Boer goat show, and an after rodeo dance highlights the events for Friday.

Saturday, August 26, events will begin at 10 a.m. and continue throughout the day. There will be a Fruit Pie and BBQ Cook Off, the open Boer goat show, a Truck and Tractor Pull, and lots of music and dancing featuring local talent as well as the Strange Brew Band who takes the stage at 8 p.m. If you would like more information about the Bell County Fair, you may contact them at the Fairgrounds directly by calling 606-337-7137, or visit their website at www.BellCountyFair.com.
