NEW TAZEWELL, Tenn.-Four individuals were injured Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident in New Tazewell.

According to a New Tazewell Police Officer, a white Ford Thunderbird with a Tennessee license plate was traveling north on U.S. Highway 33 in front of Short Stop Market as a blue Cadillac with a Virginia license plate was attempting to make a left turn onto Main Street with the two vehicles colliding sending the Cadillac into an embankment, placing extensive damage to both vehicles.

Three adults and one child had to be transported to the Claiborne County Hospital via an ambulance.

The New Tazewell Police Department and the Claiborne County EMS responded to the accident. The conditions of the injured individuals were not available at press time.
