The Claiborne High Band will be hosting the first annual Marching in the Mountains Music Festival on Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Claiborne High School in Tazewell.

This event is designed to accommodate small/rebuilding high school band programs, as well as band programs that are well established. The festival's main objective is to provide a positive educational experience through positive comments made by our adjudication staff There will be bands from Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia on hand to perform at the festival.

The CHS Band and Band Boosters would like to invite the entire community to come out and enjoy this great day of music. They would especially like to invite all Claiborne High Band Alumni to come out and reminisce about your past "Band Days and Competitions," and support this first annual Marching Festival held by the CHS Band and Band Boosters.

This will be an annual fund raising event for the CHS Band to help support the much needed instruments, supplies, and uniforms required for the band that is not supplied by the school system. The CHS band has grown from 17 members four years ago to an approximate 100 for next years marching season. This is a wonderful problem to have, but these wonderfully talented students need the help of the community to make their dreams realities. Please do not force these students to be denied entry into the marching band due to no instruments or no uniforms. They are asking the community to come together and help these students.
