Bertha Evelyn (Johns) Lasley celebrated her 80th birthday on Sept. 8.

A former resident of Middlesboro, now residing in Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Lasley celebrated her birthday with her family at the Olive Garden Restaurant in Fort Wayne.

Born Sept. 8, 1926, she raised in the Middlesboro area, and is the daughter of the late Elbert Johns and the late Rosetta (Cobbs Johns) Webb.

She married Dealus Lasley, who passed away on March 18, 1987, on Oct. 14, 1947. They had three children: Glenda Jeanne Dornseif, Gary Michael Lasley, and Darlene Rosetta Judkins (with whom she now makes her home), seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters are due in December.

She is a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne.

Mrs. Lasley is the niece of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.E. Johns, and the late Bertha Clark.
