Captain Joe Irvin of the Salvation Army recently accepted a donation from Milton Brooks, CEO Pineville Community Hospital.
The Salvation Army serves approximately 4,800 people in the tri-state area, which includes assistance with food, clothing, heating and even gas for vehicles. They also sponsor the Angel Tree Program each Christmas, which provides clothing and toys for tri-state area children.
“We hope to have more bell ringers next Christmas,” said Capt. Irvin, adding that the organization needs many more corporate and individual donations as well.
The Middlesboro Daily News is accepting donations for their year-round Helping Hands Fund, all of which goes to the Salvation Army. Donations may be sent or brought by the Daily News office. Contributions may also be sent to The Salvation Army at P.O. Box 148, Middlesboro, KY 40965.
