A two-vehicle collision on highway 25E left one driver injured and both vehicles badly damaged. The driver of a white Nissan Maxima was headed north on 25E, and made a left turn into the path of a Chevy S-10 pick-up truck. The driver of the car had attempted to turn left into Pineville at the south entrance of the flood wall. Skid marks in the road suggested that the driver of the truck, headed south toward Middlesboro, attempted to stop, but the car turned into his path too late to prevent a collision. The female driver of the car was taken to Pineville Community Hospital by Bell County EMS. The male driver of the truck was taken to the hospital as a precaution by family members, after declining emergency care. The Pineville Police Department and Pineville Fire Department responded to the scene.
