Several thefts of vehicles and metals have been solved in the past two weeks. Claiborne County Sheriffs Office Chief Investigator David Honeycutt says the public has been very helpful in providing tips about possible thefts. "The people of this county are really helping," he said. Two vehicles were recently found that had been stolen in Claiborne County. Unfortunately, both had been crushed for scrap metal before they were located. Other stolen have been located in scrap yards, loaded onto vehicles, and at residences.

Honeycutt asked that county residents continue to watch for questionable activity and contact the Sheriffs Office, City Police, or the 911 Center if something suspicious is seen. The Sheriffs Office can be reached at (423) 626-3385, New Tazewell City Hall at (423) 626-5242 and Tazewell Police at (4230 626-5104. Residents may call the 911 Center regarding activity in any part of Claiborne County.
