The Wildcats brought a premature ending to one Pineville's most successful seasons in recent memory at last year's tournament.
Tuesday the Lions took charge from the outset.
Junior center Dustin Day scored ten of his 21 points in the first quarter and sophomore guard James David Strange added six as Pineville opened up a 20-11 lead.
The pair combined for 12 second quarter points and Dustin Warren added his second 3 of the game as the Lions held on to a 35-27 half-time lead in spite of nine points from Lynn Camp's Craig Bargo.
Pineville still led by eight after three quarters.
Day, Warren, Strange and Matt Combs all hit two baskets apiece, and the Lions combined to hit 12-of-16 free throws during a 32-point fourth quarter. Junior forward Jared Jeffrey scored five of his six points and Will Lambdin put in all four of his as Pineville pulled away for the 16-point win.
Jonah Mitchell hit three 3-pointers in the fourth for Lynn Camp while Bargo and David Sizemore scored five points each, but it wasn't close to enough to catch the Lions.
Day and Strange both scored 21 points to lead Pineville and Warren added 18. Lynn Camp (13-13) was led by Bargo's 17 points. Mitchell finished with 15 and Darick Knuckles finished with 12.
Pineville (15-11) advances to Friday night's district championship game at Knox Central. Tip-off will be at 7 p.m. The win also secures a spot in the 13th Region tournament for the Lions.
Barbourville (16-9) and Knox Central (13-12) face off tonight in the other semifinal.
