He accepted Christ as his Savior on October 11, 2006. He was preceded in death by his father: Otto; mother: Ellen; brother: George; sisters Thelma Shelton and Martha Ann Norton.
He is survived by his wife: Dottie Shelton; son and daughter-in-law: Mark and Jill Shelton; grandchildren: James and Jackie Shelton all of Tazewell; sister and brother-in-law: Carolyn and Danny Johnson; brother: Sam Shelton; brothers and sisters-in-law: Thomas and Freda Shelton, Larry and Donna Shelton, Herman and Debbie Shelton; sister-in-law: Clara Shelton all of Tazewell.
Funeral services were Sunday, February 25 at 9 p.m. in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Preston Smith, Rev. Raymond Campbell and the Victory Assembly of God Praise Team officiating. Burial in the Lambert Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Mark Shelton, Danny Johnson, Danny Johnson Jr., Herman Shelton, Brian Massengill, John Shelton. Honorary pallbearers: Dan, Scott and Dave Massengill, Tim Keck, Sam and Larry Shelton, James Brooks, Chester Ayers and Joe Hood. Special pallbearers: Pee-wee Shelton, Jim Smith.
