First State Financial in Middlesboro has recently made another donation to their scholarship fund at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College. This additional gift of $5,000 is a means of showing their support for the Fulfilling the Promise Campaign currently underway at the college.

According to Aubrey Bailey, president/CEO of FSF, this latest gift to Southeast will fund five more $1,000 scholarships, for a total of 15 with last year's donation, for non-traditional/older students who are in need of financial assistance to attend SKCTC from Bell and Knox counties in Kentucky, Claiborne County in Tennessee and Lee County in Virginia. Interested students should contact the Office of Financial Aid at SKCTC for further details.

This is the third gift from FSF to the Fulfilling the Promise Campaign. During the last major fund raising campaign for Southeast, FSF (formerly First State Bank) provided some $20,000 for the campus library in Middlesboro. And, during the 1990's, when Southeast first offered classes in Bell County, FSF provided classroom space at no cost to the college.

“We are so very pleased to receive another generous gift for much needed scholarship help,” said Dr. W. Bruce Ayers, SKCTC president. “First State Financials support for the college will enable many deserving non-traditional/older students a chance to complete college degrees and will allow them to make a difference in the Bell County area.”
