HARROGATE, Tenn. - Larry Giles of Harrogate, Tenn., passed away Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. He was born in Middlesboro, Ky., on December 10, 1945, to the late Farris D. Giles and Marcille Connor Giles. He worked for Securitas at L.M.U. in Harrogate, Tenn., for 13 years; Coca-Cola in Middlesboro, Ky. He was an avid cyclist & hiker who loved the outdoors. He was a strong supporter of Greenway Trails.

He is survived by his wife: Virginia Phipps Giles, of Harrogate, Tenn.; mother: Marcille Connor Giles, of Harrogate, Tenn.; daughters: Stacey & Wayne Albergotti, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Shelly & Shawn Steff, with U.S. Air Force in Ramstein, Germany; grandchildren: Noah & Avery Albergotti; Samuel & Sydney Steff; brother: Gary & Debbie Giles, of Houston, Texas; sister: Theresa J. Lawson, of Speedwell, Tenn.; brothers-in-law: Charles & Randall Phipps; sister-in-law: Christine Phipps; many cherished nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Saturday at the Coffey Funeral Home in Harrogate with funeral service to follow at 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the LMU Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society or First State Financial Institution for a memorial garden in honor of Larry Giles. Coffey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
