PINEVILLE— Buster Edward Gambrel, 46, the man charged in the case of the Kettle Island triple homicide, will face a pre-trial conference on Monday, May 21st, 2007 at 9:20 a.m. in Bell County Circuit Court. Judge Bowling will preside. Routinely, future trial dates are set during pre-trial conferences.

On May 10, 2007, Gambrel’s court appointed attorney, Marcus Jones, filed a motion to preserve evidence in the case. Nothing else is filed on the case yet.

The charges Gambrel faces stem from the January 2, 2007 discovery of three murdered men in the Kettle Island community outside of Pineville. All three victims- Donnie Fuston, Bryan Carnes and Arley Carnes suffered fatal gunshot wounds.

Gambrel was arraigned on March 19, 2007.

Gambrel turned himself over to authorities on different charges the day that the bodies were discovered. Those four charges: Trafficking in marijuana; possession of a defaced firearm; prescription controlled substance not in their proper container and use; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Gambrel is lodged in the Bell County Detention Center.
