It’s no mystery why the summer reading program at the Middlesboro Public Library has been such a success so far! Children’s librarian Cindy McGeorge has been busy organizing fun activities for area kids to enjoy. As part of this summer’s “Get a Clue @ Your Library” theme, Kentucky State Police detective Doyle Halcomb visited the group. As McGeorge said, “The children really enjoyed learning about fingerprinting and how to catch a thief. We even had someone steal our cookie jar!” She adds, “But the children solved the mystery by comparing fingerprints. The detective stole our cookies!”
