Several local students were recognized at Lincoln Memorial University’s 2007 Student Awards Program at the end of the 2006-2007 academic year.

Turner Bowling of Middlesboro, was named recipient of the Ross Carter Achievement Award in Creative Writing.

Kristin Mayes of Middlesboro, was named recipient of the H.A. Whiton Memorial Scholarship for Girls. She was also won the Outstanding Sophomore English Major Award.

Rebecca Southern of Middlesboro, was named recipient of the Kenneth and Christine Edds Endowed Scholarship and the Outstanding Junior English Major Award. She is an English major at LMU.

Leigh Ann Garrison of Middlesboro was named recipient of the Harland B. Sanders Memorial Kentucky Colonels Scholarship. She is a liberal studies and human development major at LMU.

Laura Loveday of Middlesboro, was named recipient of the Harland B. Sanders Memorial Kentucky Colonels Scholarship. She is a liberal studies and human development major at LMU.

Jennifer Powell of Middlesboro was named recipient of the Harland B. Sanders Memorial Kentucky Colonels Scholarship. She is a nursing major at LMU.

Brian Good of Middlesboro, was named recipient of the V. Clifford Lowdenback Scholarship. He is a liberal studies and human development major at LMU.
