The Student Awards Ceremony is held each spring to recognize students in Potter College and its 12 departments who have excelled academically or who have demonstrated exceptional leadership or service.

Included among those students being honored this year is Reagan Gilley (center) of Pineville.

He was awarded the A.M. Stickles Scholarship ($1200). Three A.M. Stickles Scholarship are awarded annually by a faculty committee on the basis of academic achievement and promise to the profession. Only rising college seniors are eligible. The scholarships are in memory of Dr. Arndt M. Stickles, a founder of the Southern Historical Association and Chairman of Western’s History Department from 1908 to 1954.
