Looking for a place to sell homegrown vegetables? The Middlesboro Farmers Market has opened on Cumberland Avenue, near Fountain Square. Kim Farrell was the first local grower/farmer to receive a seller’s permit. The farmers market is a project of Discover Downtown Middlesboro and Leadership Bell County 2007. At the recent grand opening, Larry Goodwin provided music and Southeast Telephone and Worldwide Gap had plenty of hot-dogs and drinks. Middlesboro Farmers Market opens each Saturday at 7 a.m. and closes at 1 p.m. or sooner if vendors sell out. All local farmers and gardeners are welcome to participate. Produce must be locally grown, no wholesalers, will be allowed. To participate, call Bo Green at 248-1110 or Jason Brashear at 337-2376, or simply show up Saturday morning.
