He was a member of The Freedom to Worship Church in Garrett, In. He was preceded in death by his father and mother: Lambert and Gertrude Collins; first wife: Della Collins; brothers: Roscoe and J.B. Collins; sisters: Christine Carpenter and Inez Collins.
He is survived by his wife: Ameline Collins of Sneedville; son and daughter-in-law: Danny and Susan Collins; daughters and sons-in-law: DeWana and James Richey, Debra and Thomas Platter; daughter: Diana Collins all of Indiana, Donna Caudill of Virginia; step sons: Earl Lawson, Jr., Randall D. Lawson; step daughters: Lillie Mae Lawson, Kathy Sue Dean; step daughter and husband: Joyce and Paul Louthan; brothers: Claude Collins and wife Mable, Russell Collins and wife Juanita; sisters: Oralea Louthan, Mary Sexton; 22 grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one step great grandchild.
Funeral services were Saturday, September 29 at 11 a.m. at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Orville Yeary and DeWana Richey. Songs by The Turner Family. Burial in the Vardy Cemetery at Galli Horn with Military Honors.
