Alan Collier of Blue Ridge Insurance Services met with county officials on Oct. 4 to explain efforts to obtain insurance for county employees. He said he has been in contact with several companies and is awaiting their response to present to the county.
County Mayor Joe Duncan, County Attorney James Estep III, and County Commissioners Bill Brooks, Juanita Honeycutt, Steve Mason, Glen Bowling, and Barry Thomas heard the presentation and will meet again on Oct. 30 to review specific propositions.
After review of proposals the full commission is expected to make the final determination at the regular November meeting.
