Bell moved the ball at will and held McCreary Central to just 57 total yards in a 63-0 win Friday night.
Senior running back T.R. Christopher scored on runs of 15, 20 and 31 yards on the Bobcats’ first three possessions of the game. Kyle Nelson’s four-yard pass to Chase Ely and Monte Merrick’s extra point put Bell up 28-0 with 1:47 to play in the first quarter and Bell never looked back.
Christopher ran for 111 yards on 8 carries and added a fourth touchdown in the third quarter.
Junior Spencer Greer led the Bobcats ground game with ten carries and 135 yards, including a 39-yard TD run early in the second quarter.
Nelson completed 7-of-8 passes for 138 yards and touchdowns to Ely and Matt Rains. The senior quarterback has now thrown for nine touchdowns and hasn’t been intercepted in 73 pass attempts this season.
Matt Simpson added a 24-yard touchdown run inthe third quarter and sophomore defensive lineman Joe Collett picked up a fumbled snap on a punt in the fourth quarter and took it 23 yards for a touchdown to complete the scoring.
Junior Shawnta Zachery led Bell receivers with 68 yards on two catches and also had an interception on McCreary’s first pass attempt of the game.
The Bobcat defense never allowed the Raiders to get into position to score as Bell out-gained them 491-57 in the game.
Bell County (8-0) completes district play with a 4-0 record and are assured of at least two home games as long as they win in the playoffs.
The Bobcats travel to Leslie County next Friday and then close the regular season with a trip to Lexington Tates Creek.
McCreary Central (3-6, 1-3) finishes their regular season by hosting Campbellsville next Friday. They have an open date Nov. 2 before coming to Bell County for the first round of the playoffs.
