She was of the Baptist faith and saved at an early age. She was preceded in death by her parents: Joel Green Lawson and America (Hopson) Lawson; sisters: Ruby Lawson, Roma Scott, and Cleo Jennings; husband: Hershel Asbury; children: Kathy White and Joe Asbury.
Survivors include her grandchildren: Tim and Missy Seals of New Tazewell; great grandson: Dustin Brodey Seals of New Tazewell; nieces: Nancy Bos and Mary Jo Lickliter of Knoxville; a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 11 a.m. in the Wells Cemetery at Lone Mt. with Rev. George Walker officiating.
