According to the KSP report, the operator of the vehicle was Shawna Michelle McCreary, age 16 of Ingram. The three passengers were Wesley Allen Cole, 18, of Arjay; Stephanie Michelle Wilder, 18, of Pineville; and Eric Brandon Ogan, 18, of Arjay.
Bell County High School Principal Jeff Saylor says McCreary and Ogan were enrolled at Bell County High School and Wilder and Cole were former students.
Saylor said a support team of counselors was sent to meet with the victims’ families on Tuesday.
“They were all fine young men and women. They were good kids,” Saylor said.
On Sunday, Jan. 6 at 3:22 a.m., KSP Trooper Brian Green was patrolling KY Hwy. 92 in the community of Ingram, when he came upon a 2002 Dodge Neon crashed into a tree and completely engulfed in flames. The Bell County Fire Department arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire and it was determined that there were four bodies inside of the car. State Forensic Pathologist Dr. Emily Craig was called to the scene to assist KSP with the investigation. The four subjects were taken to the KSP Crime Lab in Frankfort for autopsy, where identities were confirmed.
Detective Mike Cornett determined that McCreary lost control of the car, left the roadway and hit a tree, at which point the car came to a rest. None of the victims were wearing seat belts. Assisting at the scene was the Bell County Coroners Office. This fatal crash is still under investigation by KSP Detective Mike Cornett.
