MIDDLESBORO — Sci Fi viewers will warm their couches tonight, for the premiere of season two of “Destination Truth”. “Destination Truth” is a weekly adventure series that features a true world adventurer and truth-seeker, Josh Gates, on his quest to investigate the unexplained myths that exist in cultures all around the world. Josh seeks to either prove or debunk stories by going directly to the sources and sites.

Middlesboro native Caleb Riggs anxiously anticipates the premiere, not only because he is a fan, but because he’ll see his hard work come to life during the course of this show and during the rest of the season.

Riggs works as a project manager at Coomer Media Group (CMG) in Richmond, Ky. While Richmond is a relatively short drive from Riggs’ hometown of Middlesboro, his work spans much farther. For the “Destination Truth” project, Riggs worked night and day coordinating with network producers in Los Angeles, Ca. — a task that Riggs said presented many challenges, just in communicating.

“12 to 24 hour workdays are perfectly normal for us at CMG. In this business, we work to standard, not to time. That is something I learned from my commander in the guard, First Lieutenant Chris Jackson,” Riggs said.

“The ‘Destination Truth’ series is a very exciting project for us,” Riggs explained. “We are creating the motion graphics and 3D effects that will be used with the footage they have filmed from all across the world.”

“At CMG we offer services and work in every market that encompasses creative media, audio/video, marketing, and business development,” Riggs stated. “Our fully capable recording studio, video editing suite, photography studio, and multimedia production facilities have put us in position for tremendous growth fueled by our designer’s world class talent,” he added.

Riggs individual role in the company is a logistic one. “I work directly with our clients to coordinate and direct the entire scope of the project from concept to delivery,” Riggs explained.

Riggs credits his abilities and excellent job performance (his employer, David Coomer, can’t say enough nice things about Riggs) to his upbringing and his experience in the military.

“I have served in the Ky. National Guard since the age of 17 and spent a year in Iraq during 2005-2006. Serving as a team leader in combat gave me the leadership, resource management, and communication skills that are priceless in the business world,” Riggs said.

Riggs is 26-years-old, he graduated from Middleboro High School in 1999 and went on to pursue an education in Music Business at Eastern Kentucky University. His higher education was cut short when he was deployed in 2001 in support of Operation Noble Eagle. Riggs’ mother is Liz Reister and his father is Eric Riggs.

“My parents’ unwavering support and the priceless deposits from mentors and teachers like Mr. Ken Simpson, Mrs. Barbara Arnette, Mr.Wes Blondell, Mr. Danny Fuson, Mr. Harry Earl — just to name a few — have given me the inspiration and confidence to dream big dreams, do big things, and never stray from my heart’s convictions,” Riggs said.

Riggs can barely contain his excitement over the “Destination Truth” project. “Outside of patrolling the neighborhoods of Ramadi, Iraq, it is the most intense thing I’ve ever been involved in,” he said. “It is like no other job in the world.”

Caleb Riggs is proud of his success, and he encourages others to aspire to do great things. “I would encourage anybody — no matter how small of a town or how humble a beginning they come from —to think, dream, and most of all, just do,” Riggs said.

“Destination Truth” season two premieres on tonight at 10/9 C on the Sci Fi channel. In the first episode, “The Yeti”, adventurer Josh Gates will face the snow-covered Himalayan mountains in search of the Yeti, the mythical abominable snowman that has captured the fascination of the Western World for decades.
