The Middlesboro Lady Jacket tennis team swept all nine matches from North Laurel Tuesday.
In singles, top seed Emily Crawford defeated Makaela Prichard 8-1; Natalie Dubin topped Rachel Lewis 8-1; Rachel Maiden downed Makenzie Prichard 8-1; Trinity Goodman defeated Keely McWhorter 8-1; Priya Mohan got past Pooja Kanthawar 8-3; and Mary Wilson defeated Maggie Doty 8-1.
In doubles, Maiden and Goodman topped Prichard and Prichard 8-2; Mohan and Mary Wilson defeated Lewis and Kanthawar 8-2; and Morgan Wilson and Ashley Mason got past McWhroter and Erica Manning 6-4.
The boys lost to North Laurel 6-3.
In singles, Jacket top seed Akash Patel defeated James Montgomery 8-5; North Laurel’s Gil Bagang topped Chris Akers 8-3; Roger Uy of Middlesboro got past Alex Douglas 8-6; and North Laurel’s Max Schwartz defeated Noah Robinson 8-0, Brad Baker topped Jared Barton 8-5 and Nathan Eberhardt got past Middlesboro’s Adam Crawford 8-2.
In doubles, North’s number one team of Montgomery and Bagang defeated Patel and Akers 8-3; Middlesboro’s Uy and Robinson doubled up Douglas and Schwartz 8-4; and North’s Baker and Eberhardt edged Barton and Zach Ausmus 4-6.
The Middlesboro boys and girls will host Corbin Thursday and visit J. Frank White Friday.
