“This will be our tenth year for the Bell County Fair. It has been a long, diligent road. We have now purchased property and we can now proceed with a fairground that everyone in the community can use. We invite everyone to participate. Now they have a home if they want to put on horse shows, family events or some type of community event. We are also looking for people to be part of the Bell County Fair,” Bell County Fair President Winchell Wilder stated.
On Saturday, June 21, the fair opens with a 4-H FAA Market Goat Show and Open Boer Goat Show. The fair will proceed on Sunday, June 22, at Bell County High School with the annual Bell County Fair Beauty Pageant. The Little Miss and Mister sign ups will be from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. The Pre-Teen sign-ups will be from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Teen sign-ups will be from 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Queen sign ups will be from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. Entry fees are $35 each, while the Little Miss & Mister is per couple. Admission is $3 per person.
Monday, June 23, at the fairgrounds is the ATV and Motorcycles Dirt Drag. Tech starts at 5:30 p.m. and the race at 7 p.m. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. Entry fee is $10 for all 19 classes. There will be an 80 percent payback in all classes.
Tuesday, June 24, at the fairgrounds will be the Truck and Tractor Pull at 7 p.m. You must be a KTPA member to participate. Go to www.ktpapull.com to become a member.
Wednesday, June 25 there will be a Demo Derby.
Thursday, June 26, is the Hook’em, Tug’em, Pull’em at the fairgrounds. Sign-ups are at 5:30 p.m. and competition starts at 7 p.m. Classes are open and anything goes, including lawn mowers, tractors, pick-up trucks including two-wheel, four-wheel and diesels, along with ATV and UTV and anything else you may want to compete with. The entry fee is $10 and there will be an 80 percent payback. Call Stacey Metcalf at 606-248-8454 for more information.
Friday, June 27 is the rodeo.
Saturday, June 28, the rodeo will continue along with a car show and bike show. For the car and bike show, the entry fee is $10 per entry and begins at 10 a.m. while judging is at 1 p.m. and awards will be presented at 2 p.m. There will be prizes from $25 to $50 for the top four winners in their category.
In addition to these special days and nights, there will be stage entertainment Monday through Saturday along with an “Elephant Encounter”, a petting zoo, pig racing, a carnival and much more.
