He was born July 13, 1921, at Brownies Creek, and was the son of the late James Edward Miracle and Cindy Hoskins Miracle. A believer in the Baptist faith he was a coal miner and construction worker. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, where he received the American Defence Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, A.T.O. Medal, and WWII Victory Medal.
Other then his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Allen and Brenda Miracle, and 11 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Jewell Edward Miracle of Balkin; children, Jerry and Glenda Miracle, Columbia, Tenn., Darrell and Cathy Miracle, Lapeer, Mich., Brian and Annette Miracle Oxford, Mich., Lennie and Darlene Miracle, Oxford, Mich., Becky and Jack Grubbs, Corbin, Ky., and Mark and Jerri Miracle, Oxford, Mich.; 17 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, at the Creech-Durham Funeral Home in Pineville, with the Rev. Shelby Money officiating. Music will be provided by Bertha Sutton.
Interment will be in the Edwards Family Cemetery Balkin. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Military honors will be given at the cemetery by the Harlan Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at the Creech-Durham Funeral Home, Pineville, which is in charge of arrangements.
