NEW TAZEWELL, Tenn. — William Robert “Tookie” Johnson, 77, was born October 15, 1930, and passed away Monday, July 7, 2008.

He attended Leatherwood Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Tommie Larry Johnson; father and mother, C.E. “Bud” and JoAnnie Hopper Johnson.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Veronica Johnson of Oak Harbor, Ohio; grandchildren, Kristen and Chad Wagner of Little Rock, Ark., Benjamin and Thomas Johnson of Oak Harbor, Ohio, and Angie Best of Las Vegas, Nev.; great-grandchildren, Jamie and Justice Best of Nevada; ex-wife and mother of his children for 50 years, Doris Dabney of Luttrell, Tenn.; best friend, Joyce Cochran; brothers, Earl and wife Louise Johnson of Castalia, Ohio, and Doyle Johnson of New Tazewell, Tenn.; Special Bowling Buddies; and several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Coffey Funeral Home.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bud Dykes and the Rev. Greg Sharp officiating. Music will be by Wanda Williams Family.

Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Hopper Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Johnson, Tom Johnson, Rick Johnson, Raymond Johnson, Chad wagner, Steve Williams, Eddie Williams
