KETTLE ISLAND, Ky. — A Bell County man died on Saturday morning as a result of an ATV accident.

Robert W. Hoskins, 45-years-old, Kettle Island, was killed after losing control of his ATV and striking a tree at around 1:45 a.m. Saturday. The accident occurred in Mill Creek Hollow off of Ky. Hwy. 221. Hoskins lost control of the ATV he was operating, ran off the roadway, and struck a tree — according to the Bell County Sheriff’s Department. Hoskins was ejected from the ATV.

Hoskins was pronounced dead at the scene by Bell County Deputy Coroner Bill Bisceglia. The Sheriff’s Department reports that toxicology reports are pending. The accident is under investigation by Deputy Kyle Dunn. Dunn was assisted at the scene by Sheriff Bruce Bennett, Bell County EMS and the Bell County Volunteer Fire Department.
