Born April 27, 1929, in Dorton Branch, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Dozier and Martha Dozier. She was a member of West Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church in Middlesboro.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Arthur Lee, Berkley Dozier and Coy Dozier; sisters, Ermalene, Henrietta, Magdalene; and son-in-law, Shannon Evans.
Survivors include her husband Virgil Emmett, Middlesboro; children, Brenda Evans, Jonesville, Va., Sherry Darlene (Ottis) Capps, Harlan, Ky., and Virgil (Vickie) Emmett Jr., Middlesboro; eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; special friend, Linda Meyers; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at West Cumberland Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Robbins presiding. Music will be by the church singers.
Interment will follow in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at Creech Funeral Home, Middlesboro, which is in charge of all arrangements.
