Several sentences handed down in Bell Circuit Court

PINEVILLE — There were over 50 people sentenced to prison in the past two weeks in Bell County Circuit Court. The following is a portion of what was presented by the Bell County Circuit Court for publication. The remaining sentences will be printed at a later date.

James C. Ferrell, 31, of London has been sentenced for Third Degree Burglary to prison, after pleading guilty. Ferrell has been sentenced to four years in prison and that two years and six months of the sentence shall run concurrently with the sentence imposed in Laurel Indictment 07-CR-00057.

Amos Wayne Blakley, 26, of Manchester has been sentenced, following a trial by jury. The jury found Blakley guilty of first-degree fleeing or evading police; theft by unlawful taking less that $300 and second-degree possession of a controlled substance and second-degree persistent felony offender. The jury also set the sentencing at five years for first-degree fleeing or evading police; eight years for an enhancement to the sentence under Count I of the indictment, four months in the Bell County Jail for theft by unlawful taking less than $300 and one month in jail for second-degree of a controlled substance. The sentences are to run concurrently with each other, but that such sentences shall run consecutively with Indictments 04-CR-00014 and 04-CR-00020.

Howard David Stepp, 44, of Middlesboro plead guilty for first degree trafficking in a controlled substance and second degree trafficking in a controlled substance. Stepp was sentenced to five years in prison for trafficking in a controlled substance and one year in prison for trafficking in a controlled substance and the sentences are to run consecutively with each other.

Jessica L. Hughett, 20, of Middlesboro plead guilty to first degree trafficking in a controlled substance and sentenced to five years in prison.

Andrew Maiden, Jr., 44, of Pineville plead guilty to receiving stolen property over $300. He was sentenced to three years in prison and to pay restitution in the amount of $200 of behalf of the victim, Patrick Howard and restitution of $250 of behalf of the victim Tim Corkran.

Randy Allen King, 25, of Pineville entered a plea of guilty to receiving stolen property over $300. He was sentenced to three years in prison and is to pay restitution in the amount of $200 on behalf of the victim, Patrick Howard and restitution of $250 of behalf of the victim Tim Corkran.

Michael E. Frady, 20, of Middlesboro has entered a plea of guilty to first degree trafficking in a controlled substance and sell or transfer of simulated controlled substances. Frady has been sentenced to five years n prison for trafficking in a controlled substance and 12 months in the Bell County Jail for the sell or transfer simulated controlled substances.

Steven Travis Miracle, 27, of Harrogate entered a plea of guilty to theft by unlawful taking or disposition a convicted felon in possession of a handgun and second degree escape and sentenced to five years in prison. He also was guilty of disorderly conduct; menacing and resisting arrest and sentenced to 90 days in the Bell County Jail Counts 3-4 are to run concurrently and concurrently with Counts 1-2 and to pay restitution of $2,837 to Darrin Stewart and Jessica Ford.

Matthew R. Gibson, 25, of Pineville plead guilty to receiving stolen property over $300 and was sentenced to two years in prison and the sentence is to run concurrently with the sentences imposed in Bell Indictments 08-CR-00040 and 08-CR-00219 and that Gibson is to by Wal-Mart restitution in the amount of $600 and $900 on behalf of the victim, Mary Henderson.
