PINEVILLE — The Pineville School Board was happy to announce during their regular meeting on Monday that the Sophomore Halloween Carnival is to be celebrated at Pineville City School Friday from 7 until 11 p.m.

The board learned that the work on the school gymnasium and HVAC system will be concluded in a short time.

The board learned during the attendance report that the elementary school maintains 95.80 percent attendance, and the high school maintains 93.71 percent. The total for the school is 94.62 percent.

The board announced the mileage reimbursement rate: 49 cents per mile.

The KSBA will meet Thursday in a special regional meeting, in Middlesboro.

The board discussed the school gym during the meeting.

The gym is open during the day for students and from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. at night for others, including: Parents, teachers, staff and others. The gym is packed with equipment. 16 students can exercise in the gym at any given time. There is even “Dance, Dance, Revolution” equipment for those looking for an out-of-the-ordinary workout experience.
