He was born March 6, 1953 in Middlesboro, to James (Robert) Oliver Barnett and the late Ruth Sweat Barnett. He believed in the Holiness Faith and was a member of Church of the First Born.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon Barnett, and Mary Ruth Barnett; one brother, Daniel Barnett; one sister, Wanda King; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Willie and Mary Good.
Survivors include his loving wife, Naomi Barnett; father, James (Robert) Barnett; three brothers: Otis Barnett, Joe Barnett, and Leroy Barnett; three sisters: Phyllis (Tommy) Smith, Lisa Barnett, and Penny Marie Barnett; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Hester) Good, Willie Frank (Debbie) Good, and Condy Ray Good; sisters-in-law, Christine Allen, and Alice Fay (Jerry) Hensley; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral Service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, January 15, at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earl Brooks and Glen Raines officiating. Music will be provided by Church of the First Born Singers.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 16, at Hensley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Jackson, Gary Patterson, Jimmy Sweat, Mitchell Mayes, Condy Allen Jr., and Brian Good.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday January 15, at Shumate Funeral Home Chapel.
