BEAVERTON, Ore. — Lincoln Memorial University’s senior forward, Desmond Johnson, added another honor to his impressive resume as he was named a Division II Bulletin Honorable Mention All-American, which was announced on Wednesday morning.

This caps a grand career for Johnson as he was named First-Team All-South Atlantic Conference at the end of the regular season. A season ago, he was honored by being selected as the South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year.

Johnson was a major factor in the Railsplitters’ 26-6 season that included a brief stint at No. 1 in the NABC national poll. The Railsplitters ended the season at 24th in the rankings. Johnson was second on the team in scoring at 10.5 points per contest and led the team in rebounding, pulling in 6.9 boards a game. He shot an astounding 59 percent from the field for the season.

Johnson is completing one of the greatest careers in LMU men’s basketball history as he sits in the top ten historically in fourteen different categories. He is tied for first in career starts (101), second in defensive rebounds (556), second in games played (119), third in free throws made and attempted (364, 547), third in rebounds (828), fifth in field goals made (528) and fifth in field goal percentage (.576).
