He was born October 3, 1946, at Kenvir, KY., the son of the late James and Charlie Lou Martin Smith.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James Smith Jr.
Survivors include his brothers, Lawrence Edward Smith and Harry James Smith; his sisters, Shirley Jean Smith and Annie Pearl Smith Brown; and his daughter, Flecia Kaye Smith.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
