At approxmately 5:30 p.m. Thursday, the Cumberland Gap Tunnel opened all four lanes making it easier for traffic to flow smoothly. The tunnel had been reduced to two lanes since January after construction began. Repairs were done to the concrete underneath the surface of the tunnel.
