HARROGATE, Tenn. — Bradley Brooks of Harrogate, Tenn., age 90, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday January 31, 2009.

He was a lifelong member of Big Spring Union Baptist Church and served as an Ordained Deacon since 1949. He farmed his entire life. He was also a Tennessee Colonel. He loved his family and he loved his church and his church family.

He was preceded in death by parents, Roscoe and Mamie Brooks; wife, Edith Gilbert Brooks; sisters, Axie Lewellen and Margie Sales; and brothers Eugene, Jimmy, and Junior Brooks.

Survivors include his sons, Kenneth (Patsy) Brooks of Monroe, Mich., Cletis (Helen) Brooks Monroe, Mich., and Donald Brooks of Harrogate, Tenn.; daughter, Linda (Bill) Frazier of New Tazewell, Tenn.; grandchildren, Karen Brooks, Jimmy Brooks, Tommy Brooks, Billy Brooks, Jason Brooks, Wesley Frazier, and Kathy Marie Ayers; great-grandchildren, Katie Ashley Brooks, Brittney Brooks, Brandon Brooks, Riley Brooks, Noah Brooks, Andrew Lay, Kurtis Lay, Jacob Ayers, George Ayers, Page Brooks, and Christian Brooks; step great-grandchildren Ashton Leedy, Elliot Leedy, and Luke Lemons; great great-grandchild, Annalyse Lay; sisters, Agnes Manning of Tazewell, Tenn., Inez Williams Cairo, Mo., Marie Brooks and Elaine Hinckley of Lafayette, Ind., Eula Franklin of Clarksville, Tenn., and Marilyn Rotramel Browns, Il.; brothers, Billy J. Brooks of Dayton, Ohio, John Brooks of North Palm Beach, Fla.; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, February 2 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. with services to follow at 7:30 at Reece Valley Chapel. Ministers will be Jimmy Bryant, Larry Carmon and Jimmy Brooks. Singers will be the Big Spring Union Church Choir. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Forge Ridge Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons.
