Two men died as the result of a wreck around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol report, a red Geo driven by Dennis Parker, 39 of Tazewell, Tenn., crossed the center line traveling south on U.S. 25E, just east of Upper Caney Valley Road, into the path of a tractor and trailer traveling northbound.
Parker and his passenger, Justin Hunt, 37 of New Tazewell, Tenn., were killed. The driver of the tractor and trailer sustained minor injuries.
Several emergency agencies responded to the scene, including the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Department, Claiborne EMS, Claiborne County Rescue Squad, Springdale Volunteer Fire Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Trooper Jason Maxey of the THP is in charge of the investigation.
